Private by Design: We believe your workout data belongs to you. VO2Maps processes your health and location data entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal fitness data.
1. Apple HealthKit Data
VO2Maps integrates with Apple's HealthKit framework to visualize your running stories. This is a core feature of the App.
How we use it:
- We request Read-Only access to your workout data (such as heart rate, pace, distance, and workout routes).
- This data is used solely to generate standard visual overlays and maps on your photos or videos.
- We do not write data back to Apple Health.
Data Storage and Sharing:
- No Cloud Storage: HealthKit data is processed locally on your iPhone. We do not upload your workout history, health metrics, or maps to our servers or any third-party cloud servers.
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or share your HealthKit data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
2. Location Data
VO2Maps does not track your real-time location using GPS.
- We access route geometry (location history) associated with your workouts via Apple HealthKit, not via direct GPS tracking.
- This location data is used exclusively to draw the map path on your run story.
- Like all other data, this processing happens locally on your device.
3. Photos and Media
To create your run stories, VO2Maps requires access to your Photo Library.
- We access your photos and videos only to allow you to select the media you want to overlay with your stats.
- The final combined image/video is saved back to your Photo Library or shared directly by you.
- We do not view, upload, or analyze your personal photos on our servers.
4. Information You Provide Voluntarily
If you join our **Waitlist** via our website, we collect:
- First Name
- Email Address
- Country
This information is stored securely and used only to notify you about the App launch and related updates. You may unsubscribe at any time.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- HealthKit Permissions: You can manage VO2Maps' access to Apple Health at any time in your iPhone Settings app (Privacy > Health > VO2Maps).
- Photos Access: You can manage photo permissions in iPhone Settings (Privacy > Photos > VO2Maps).
- Waitlist Unsubscribe: You can contact us to delete your email from our waitlist.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
